Day 75 "Too Big To Hide"

April 13, 2011

In my never-ending quest to capture the beauty of the copper in the Black Galaxy, here are two more tries. This looks very typical, except the flecks are a very deep hue of copper, not much lighter than the black.

This is the best pic so far, but the copper flecks are still darker in hue. I had to post-process to get this, hence the red spot I forgot to crop out. That is not typical of the look!

Only one thing of note happened in the new kitchen today and I didn't even think to photograph it. I cooked the first meal! But I did notice this lone clematis growing up through my azalea and thought it was unusual and attractive. A vine of them grew in this spot for a few years when we first moved here, but I haven't seen a flower for about 10 years. And I remember them being very dark pinky-purple. Very interesting.

  1. It just keeps getting better and better...the lighting and the granite are just stunning! You must be amazed every time you walk in there. I love every single thing you've done. Have you cooked yet? ;)

  2. Thank you, Pati! I cooked an egg for breakfast yesterday and also cooked dinner for the first time. We had let the groceries dwindle a lot, so it's tough cooking w/o food in the house, lol! I was stunned that every grain of salt that missed the plate is now evident on the countertop and stovetop. Every single grain.
